ICA Education Targets Carwash Owners, Managers, Distributors

The International Carwash Association this week released its educational program for Car Care World Expo 2010, which will be held May 12-14 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas. Sessions will be presented in three education tracks aimed at carwash owners/operators, site managers and distributors.

Topics for carwash operators include tracking return on investment from marketing strategies, remodeling to maximize property profit potential, profiting from sustainable practices, financing, running multiple sites and social media.

In addition, a session titled “The New Business as Usual – Lessons Learned in the Car Wash Industry,” will discuss some of the business lessons learned during the economic recession and examine how the carwash industry should face new business challenges.

Another session titled “Wash-o-Nomics” will highlight the economics of carwashing using real operator data and statistics. The seminar will be presented by company officials from DRB Systems and examine the benefits of pay stations, monthly passes, signage, conversion and credit card use.

Topics for site managers include streamlining operations management, preventive maintenance tips to keep carwashes looking fresh and in optimal working condition, employee management, and customer service.

Topics directed at distributors include how to demonstrate the added value of services and tips on recruiting and developing a winning staff.

Another session titled “Getting to Know Your Customer – The Key to Mutual Success” will discuss the importance of building long-term partnerships with customers and the influence relationships have on mutual business success. The seminar will be presented by Hank Richard of Car Wash Technologies.

Full-day seminars aimed at new carwash investors and petroleum retailers will be held May 11.
